Dunn Memorial Camp is 100 acres of wilderness located in Elgin, Quebec beside the historic Powerscourt covered bridge about an hour southwest of Montreal. Scouts and other youth have enjoyed adventure on the site since 1954. The camp borders the beautiful Chateauguay River and features hiking trails, a large open field, dense woods with 19 species of trees, an abundance of wildflowers, bird watching, creeks and wetland areas.
Dunn Memorial Camp has a long history of adventure for youth from the Montérégie region and beyond.
The site is managed by the Dunn Memorial Camp Committee, a group of Scouts Canada volunteers from the Chavalla Area. Dunn Memorial Camp has hosted groups as large as 1,200 people for numerous Tri-District Camporee and other events.
DMC Committee organizes a camp clean-up day each year, usually in April. Volunteers enjoy a spring day of camaraderie as they sweep out buildings, clean trails, and tackle other maintenance projects. DMC Committee also encourages individuals or groups to participate in the Adopt-A-Project challenge.
Dunn Memorial Camp crests are available for purchase to add to your collection or commemorate your visit on your camp blanket.
DMC Committee is developing a variety of program activities to encourage groups to explore the grounds and their natural surroundings. Learn more about the wild flowers of Dunn Memorial, various species of trees, and practice your orienteering.
